Charles claims this is his favourite helmet as the design features two people very important to the driver. The Ferrari driver debuted his emotional tribute to two “super important” people, both who are sadly also no longer with him. Scuderia Ferrari noted that this helmet celebrates Charles' journey in F1.
 
Leclerc’s godfather Bianchi died in 2015, the Marussia Formula 1 driver succumbing to the injuries he suffered when he crashed at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. Two years later Leclerc also lost his father, Hervé passing away in June 2017 weeks prior to his son signing his first Formula 1 contract with the Sauber team.
 
They both featured on his 2022 French Grand Prix helmet, which the driver rates as his favourite.
Which is your favourite helmet design? “Probably the one used in France,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport, ” with the reproduction on the two halves of the photographs of my father Hervé and Jules Bianchi.
 
The creation of the helmets wa a joint effort between Charles and Adrien Paviot.
 
The 2022 season was a season of ups and downs for Leclerc, where the Monegasque driver achieved 3 victories (Bahrain, Australia and Austria) but also disappointments, including multiple engine problems and a car that, after the summer break, did not give Charles Leclerc the opportunity to express himself at his best.
